About Us
What is Lineselection about?
4 cooked tyres, 3 cooked units, a tyre shop and a dog that wouldn't shut up.
That's where the idea came from.
The bark rattled the yard, unraveling an idea in my brain I didn't know I had.
We were halfway through what would be a 6 month trip hiking and climbing our way through Europe.
And I really wanted to express a feeling experienced during that time.
The clarity experienced when laughing with friends
The curiosity lived when seeing a new place.
That everything is not what first meets the eye.
And that this is a choice.
Lineselection is the attempt to capture that feeling -
To make artwork that reminds me - and hopefully others - That this curious appreciation for what is around us is always available.
And too easily forgotten.
Maybe that is what the dog was trying to tell us all along.

WHERE DID THE NAME COME FROM?
The term lineselection was thrown around liberally in the summer of ’24. At first, it was something we said when someone picked a better path down a hiking trail as we raced downhill:
“Yeah, nice lineselection, Ben.”
Usually, that meant he lost the race.
It didn’t take long before lineselection came to mean more than a path. It became shorthand for decisions—a bad one: “Poor lineselection.” A good one: “Good lineselection.”
We had lots of time on our hands as we were stuck in a van together travelling Europe. Naturally, this snowballed as we obsessively brainstormed concepts of what Lineselection is and funny new ways to apply it.
When did it start?
On the 1st of Feb 2025, we decided to start lineselection with maybe $1500 to our names in the French Alps. For some reason it made sense to do it then. We were met with overwhelming support from the Tignes community and that gave us the spirits to continue on.
Where we are now?
1 year later and I couldn't be more happy that we stuck with it. The goal now is to create a community. A community of people who see the world differently and foster it.
